The cost of our services depends on the complexity of your travel plans. For more detailed itineraries — such as multi-stop journeys or custom route planning — a planning fee may apply to cover the research and personalization involved. For simpler vacations, like all-inclusive resort stays in Mexico or the Caribbean, or Disney packages, a planning fee is often not necessary. In those cases, our compensation comes from the built-in commission paid by our trusted travel partners. We always review any potential fees with you during your consultation, so you’ll know exactly what to expect — no surprises.

While it’s each traveler’s responsibility to review the terms and coverage of their policy, we’ll always do our best to match you with a plan that fits your needs.
When Should I Start Booking My Trip?
Timing depends on the type of travel you’re planning. For adventures like safaris, river cruises, or expedition-style trips, we recommend starting 12–18 months ahead to secure the best availability. For most international vacations lasting a week or more, planning 6–11 months in advance is ideal. If you're hoping to travel during peak times — like spring break or the winter holidays — the earlier, the better. Getting a head start gives us more flexibility to find the perfect options for you and ensures a smooth, stress-free planning experience from the beginning.
What’s the Best Way to Stay in Touch?
We like to kick things off with a quick phone consultation to get to know you and your travel goals. After that, we’re happy to communicate in the way that works best for you — whether that’s email, phone, or text. We also use dedicated email tools and trip planning software that help keep all your travel details organized and easily accessible, ensuring smooth, efficient communication every step of the way.
Can You Provide an Itemized Breakdown of Trip Costs?
Most of the vacations we design are customized packages that bundle all elements of your trip into one seamless experience. Our travel partners provide us with exclusive, contracted rates that aren’t publicly available — and because of this, those rates are typically not itemized. If any changes are made to your itinerary, we’ll always share an updated total cost based on the new details. Do You Book Rental Homes and Villas?
While we don’t book through Airbnb, we do offer bookings through VRBO (an Expedia company) and have access to a broad network of trusted partners who specialize in villas, private homes, and unique accommodations. This lets us find the perfect stay tailored to your preferences and needs.
What If I Need to Cancel My Trip?
We’re here to support you every step of the way. We know that life is unpredictable, and plans can change for many reasons. Cancellation fees vary depending on the suppliers involved, which is why we always recommend securing travel protection as a safety net. We offer a variety of insurance options tailored to fit each traveler’s needs, helping to provide peace of mind no matter what comes up.
Can You Book Flights or Hotels Using My Reward Points?
We don’t directly book flights or hotels with your reward points. However, we often can coordinate your points-based bookings with other parts of your trip that we do handle. Be sure to let us know about any rewards you plan to use during your consultation, so we can tailor our proposal to fit your plans perfectly.
Can You Book Just My Flights?
Technically, yes—we can book flights originating in the U.S. However, airlines don’t pay travel agents for flight-only bookings, so we would need to charge a service fee to cover our time. Since most travelers find it easy and flexible to book flights directly through the airline’s website, avoiding that fee is often the best choice. Where we really add value is when flights are booked as part of a package with hotels or other travel components — this allows us access to special “bulk fares” and exclusive deals that you can’t get booking separately.
Do I Have to Give Up Control of My Trip When Working with a Travel Advisor?
Not at all! This is your trip, and we work around your preferences. During your consultation, we’ll discuss which parts you want to be involved in and keep you updated every step of the way—making sure you stay in control while we handle the details.
Can My Travel Advisor Handle Everything If I Want to Be Completely Hands-Off?
Absolutely! Many of our clients prefer to leave all the planning and details to us so they can simply show up and enjoy their trip stress-free. We’ll chat with you upfront to understand exactly how much you want to be involved and tailor our support to match your preferences—whether that’s full-service planning or just occasional check-ins.
Am I Limited to Select Options When Working with a Travel Advisor?
We want you to know you’re never limited! There are countless options out there, and our job is to find the best ones tailored specifically for you. After we learn what you’re looking for, we create a personalized proposal based on your needs—not ours. Typically, we work with one carefully curated proposal at a time. This lets us hold key components like flights or cruise cabins to lock in pricing while you decide. As ethical advisors, we only reserve one set of options at a time. And if you don’t fall in love with the first proposal, no worries — we’ll go back to the drawing board until we find the perfect fit for your trip!
I’ve Already Booked My Trip — Can a Travel Advisor Help with the Details?
If you’ve booked your trip within the last 30 days and it hasn’t been fully paid, many suppliers may allow the booking to be transferred to our agency, so we can assist you moving forward. If that’s not possible, you would need to cancel your original reservation and rebook through us to receive full support from one of our Travel Advisors. For trips booked outside our agency, we can still help with a consulting fee. If this applies to you, please reach out so we can explore the best options together.
